The other week someone reminded me of a funny story about how my mom really wanted a NYC hot dog while she was in the hospital. Her health was declining and she’d been admitted for awhile.
I had refused to bring her one because I thought if cancer wasn’t going to kill her the hot dog probably would. I couldn’t be a party to it.
Her friends, being way wiser than me, complied and she inhaled that hot dog with the utmost pleasure.
It was not her last meal, but it was definitely her most memorable when she was in the hospital. She talked about it for the next week.
So it has me thinking… what would your last meal be?
Mine?
Hands down, Egg Benedict: morning, noon and night. Seriously, love that meal.

I mean look at all that Hollandaise sauce. Delish right?
So tell me… what’s your favorite meal?
What would be your last?

Dry-cured Serrano ham with orange flesh melon and fresh figs in creme fraiche served with steaming hot Mexican coffee kicked up with piri-piri.
If I knew my allergies would not flare up and it was my absolute last meal cause if I eat this it would probably kill me anyway… I would have surf and turf : lobster with butter and Hawaiian steak from Houston with a side of mashed potatoes and I would rinse it down with a vodka cranberry drink. Then I would have a brownie Sunday with caramel and hotfudge. That is what my mind would crave. My stomach would not be happy with me. So the healthy last meal that brings me much joy is the veggie tacos from watercourse in Denver followed by a vegan hoho cupcake. Yum!
I really like vegetables. Raw. Especially raw broccoli. That would be my last meal.
PSYCH how lame would I be if that was true.
I love chili cheese fries, with extra heartburn please.
