Birthdays Are A Big Deal Here

Mar 28, 2011 by

Birthdays are a BIG deal in our house. We talk about them for 364 days a year (unless it’s a leap year, then it’s 365) only stopping to enjoy the actual theme on the day of.

For Anna we’ve had the following:

1. Sweet Ducks
2. Princess Party
3. Princesses and Pirates
4. Puppy Party

5. Watermelon Party

And for Jack we’ve had (from top left to right):

    1. Construction Party
    2. Train Party
    3. Airplane Party
    4. Superhero Party

Anna’s 6th birthday is around the corner and she’s requested a Hello Kitty Birthday Party.

We are still on the fence if this will be a pajama party or maybe a slip and slide, but one thing is for sure, Hello Kitty will dominate! So I’m trying to think of some cute Hello Kitty ideas…

I’ll share what I’ve come up with a little later.

Anyone have any they’d like to share?

      A SuperHero Birthday

When our Jack E. Boy turned 4 this year, we had a full out superhero bash. All guests, 5 and under, had honorary capes and were instructed to fight crime. Unfortunately, the weather was ridiculously hot for September and we ended up inside for most of the time.

One of the big successes we had at this party was opening presents at the beginning of the party. Since it was only family members it was completely manageable and the kids had a bunch of brand new toys to play with. Great! Another highlight was a personal appearance by Spiderman himself!! My brother dressed up in full Spidey spandex bodysuit in +100F weather for his nephew. He’s definitely my superhero!

Here are some pics of the fun day.

Here’s a pic of the capes:

Here is part of the decor – our most WANTED list and our SUPERHERO Wall of Fame.

Spiderman (my awesome brother!) delivered the Birthday Boy's bicycle

Spidey made a guest appearance (I love you bro!)

My cousin made him these adorable cupcake pics and thank you cards. She sells them in her etsy store Sugar and Spice Studios. She also makes a matching banner now too. Isn’t that the cutest?!

Can’t wait to see what he wants to do for next year!
