Cooper Goes Under The Knife

This is Cooper and this post might get me in trouble with a certain someone in my house, but I’m willing to risk it.  I won’t mention them by name only tell you that he’s the only other person besides myself in the house over the age of 6. He doesn’t like to be mentioned here so I just won’t say his name, we’ll just call him He Who Shall Not Be Named in this Post.

Here’s the deal. Today, our dog Cooper the Labradoodle is going under the knife to remove a bunch of fatty tumors (Lipomas) and while he’s under general anesthesia they are also going to clean his teeth (which is normal for dogs and trust me MUCH NEEDED).

Lipomas are generally not dangerous but they can be annoying and if they start to interfere with people wanting to pet the dog they suggest removing them. Cooper has quite a few and some of them have gotten big enough that the vet just wants to be safe.

In preparation for the surgery, the vet asked me to do one thing: take a photo of Cooper and draw on it where we feel the Lipomas, create a roadmap for the operation if you will.

Last night I gave this task to He Who Shall Not Be Named in this Post.  I guess He Who Shall Not Be Named in this Post was feeling pretty artistic and he decided to freehand draw Cooper and his fatty tumors.

Here was the result:

Is this 2-D or 1-D?

I almost peed my pants and now I seriously am not sure how I can turn this over to the vet with a straight face.

I’m a little worried if they use the top drawing they might amputate a leg or something.

Wish Cooper luck for us – with that roadmap he’s going to need it!
